In October 2026, NVIDIA started selling laptops built on its RTX Spark chip (codename N1X): a 20-core Arm CPU, a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and up to 128 GB of unified memory. The specs are impressive, but these machines run Windows on Arm, while most CAD, simulation software and 3D scanner drivers are still written for Intel and AMD x86 chips.
So which laptop should you buy, from a student learning CAD to a professional engineer? This article compares laptop groups across six common workloads, with 29 models grouped by budget, from about VND 17 to 142 million, and Vietnam prices as of 28–29 October 2026.

1. Three laptop groups
- x86 mobile workstations: Intel/AMD CPU with an NVIDIA RTX PRO (Blackwell) GPU. GPU drivers are certified by CAD vendors (ISV certification).
- x86 creator / gaming laptops: Intel/AMD CPU with a GeForce RTX 50 GPU. Powerful and cheaper, but without ISV certification.
- RTX Spark (Arm N1X): NVIDIA's Arm chip running Windows on Arm. x86 apps run through Windows' Prism emulator.
2. What each group is good for
| Workload | x86 workstation (RTX PRO) | x86 creator (RTX 50) | RTX Spark (Arm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Fusion) | ✔ Best, ISV-certified drivers | ✔ Good | ⚠ Check first, runs under emulation |
| FEA/CFD simulation (Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL) | ✔ Best, 64–128 GB RAM | ⚠ Mid-size models, usually 32–64 GB RAM | ✖ Not yet, Arm builds lack AVX2 tuning |
| 3D scanning (Shining 3D, Creality, Revopoint, Artec) | ✔ Good | ✔ Good, 8 GB VRAM or more | ✖ Not yet, needs native Arm64 drivers |
| 3D print slicers (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Orca, Cura) | ✔ Good | ✔ Good | ⚠ Probably fine, light software |
| 3D design & rendering (Blender, Cinema 4D, KeyShot) | ✔ Good | ✔ Good | ✔ Good, Blender 5.3 or later |
| Local AI (LLMs, image generation) | ⚠ Laptop VRAM tops out around 24 GB | ⚠ Usually 8–24 GB | ✔ Best, up to 128 GB unified memory |
✔ Good · ⚠ Check first · ✖ Not yet
The key point for 3D scanning: device drivers can't run under emulation. If your scanner maker has no Arm64 driver, an RTX Spark laptop won't recognize the scanner.
3. Starting prices in Vietnam

| Group | Average starting price |
|---|---|
| x86 mobile workstations (3 models) | ≈ VND 102.8 million |
| x86 creator laptops (4 models) | ≈ VND 105.7 million |
| RTX Spark (5 models sold in Vietnam) | ≈ VND 115.3 million |
| Students, VND 10–20 million (3 models, integrated GPU) | ≈ VND 17.5 million |
| Students, VND 20–30 million (4 models, RTX 4050) | ≈ VND 28.1 million |
| VND 30–40 million range (4 models, RTX 5050/5060) | ≈ VND 38.6 million |
| VND 40–50 million range (3 models, RTX 5070) | ≈ VND 48.2 million |
Prices are the lowest we found at Vietnamese retailers on 28 October 2026, VAT included. Base configurations differ (16 GB to 64 GB of RAM), so use them for rough comparison only.

11. Three questions to choose fast
Answer in order and stop at the first "yes":
- Do you use a 3D scanner or simulation software? Yes → x86 mobile workstation.
- Is CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor…) your daily work? Yes → workstation or x86 creator laptop.
- Do you run local AI or render in Blender a lot? Yes → RTX Spark. No → x86 creator laptop.
Budget under VND 50 million: see sections 7–10. Students who only need CAD and 3D printing can start at about VND 17 million; for 3D scanning, choose an NVIDIA RTX laptop from about VND 27 million and upgrade to 32 GB of RAM.
12. Before you buy RTX Spark
- Is there an ARM64 build of your software? Look for "Windows on Arm" or "ARM64" in each app's system requirements.
- Do your scanner and printer have Arm64 drivers? Drivers don't run under emulation. Bring your device to the store and test it if you can.
- Do your plugins and add-ins work? CAD plugins and x86 CUDA libraries are where things break most often.
- Pick the right chip. If you need more than 32 GB of memory, choose the 20-core, 6,144-CUDA-core version.
Prices and software compatibility change quickly. Check with the store and the software vendor's support pages before you buy.
